Art Movements/ Photoshop
Welcome Year 7 students and parents!
This term we will be looking at various Art Movements including the Renaissance, Romanticism, Impressionism, Pop Art. Below are links to pages that will assist you in your project. This task aims at improving your Web 2.0 skills as well as the theory of art.

Task:
1. You will be working in a group with three of your classmates. Each group will be allocated an art movement, Reinassance, Romanticism, Impressionism or Pop Art.
2. Firstly you must collaboratively come up with a sound definition of the art movement.
3. Next each member will choose a significant artist from the period, and one of there artworks.
4. Using Photoshop you will place yourself in the artwork. If you have trouble using Photoshop refer to the page ‘How to use Photoshop’.
*Note the image of me in the Mona Lisa… This is a fun task however in saying that it is aimed at improving your computer skills. Post your images on the photo sharing website Flickr.
5. Lastly give a brief analysis of the original artwork and artist. Consider the artists framework: Subjective, Cultural, Structural, and Postmodern.
This tasks aims at getting you as well as your parents involved collaboratively using Web 2.0 technologies. Thus each group is required to create either a blog or a wiki to present your art movement and artists.
Parents will be asked to contribute to the project through discussing what they have learnt about Web 2.0 and the art project. Every family is asked to set up a Facebook account to assist in the discussion. Parent if you are unable to create an account allow your child to teach you. It has been proven that working collaboratively using Web 2.0 technologies caters and supports all learning styles. I am interested to see both student and parents thoughts. I encourage you to discuss the new applications you have learned to use: Flickr, Facebook, Blog or Wiki, Del.icio.us, YouTube etc. Together we can make an effective and efficient learning environment for all students in year 7 art.
Thanks for your support
